Department of Arabic Language and Pedagogy
The department of Arabic language is the first and leading departments of the Makhmud Kashgari-Barskani Eastern University, which founded in 1999.
The graduator would have the academic qualification degree – the bachelor of Art Philology Education, Specialty: Arabic language. The time to study is four years in daily form of studying.
Qualification characteristic of the graduators
BA “Philology Education” (Arabic language) in the frame of the specialty gets the base training in the field of “Arabic language and literature”. BA “Philology Education” gives to students the following types of professions: Researchers, Science workers, Teacher and Instructors (in the schools and universities), Translators and Interpreters from Arabic into Russian, Kyrgyz and vice versa.

The aim of the department:
- - To be leader in the field of teaching Arabic language in Kyrgyzstan;
- - To prepare specialists having the edge on excellent knowledge, high morality and professionality being ready to serve to the Motherland
- - To attend special focus on morality growth of the students
- - To organize the different kinds of events
- - To teaching Arabic language based on textbooks, and training packages prepared by the Academic staff of the department
- - tap the labor market: the graduators of the department have big chances to employ in the Gulf States and Arabic countries, also they can work in diplomacy particular in the embassies of Arabic countries in Kyrgyzstan and vice versa like Saudi and Kuwait. Also the graduators can teach Arabic in the their countries
The graduators of the Arabic language have the high demand on the labor market of Kyrgyzstan by the professional satisfaction and academic honoures.

Academic staff of the academic process
The realization of education program to preparing the bachelor on the sphere 550300 “Philological Education” will realized by the academic staff who had the basic education according to the sphere of the subjects who are researchers as well. The University teachers of all multiply and professional disciplines have the University degree (PhD or equivalent) or the experience in this area. However, the Dr. and Professors are no less than 10%. PhD and Associate Professors – no less than 25-30% of Academic staff.
The special attention given to the moral growth of the students, organizing different kinds of activities according to its aim.
Academic and methodical support of education processes
Academic process on the educational program preparing the undergraduate philological education philological education provided the needed academic-methodical materials.
The academic-methodical providing of the academic process supposed to the presence of information base in the funds of EU, provided the training of the bachelors:
- All the learnt subjects provided the academic programs and academic and methodical materials. Eastern University has two libraries: Kyrgyz, Russian library and Arabic library.
Implementation of the education programme training the bachelors of philological education and date base on the content relevant to the full list of disciplines of the educational program, availability of manuals and guidelines for all disciplines and for all types of activities - workshops, course and diploma design, practices, as well as visual AIDS, multimedia, audio - video materials.

The implementation of educational program, the bachelor of philological education, provides:
-availability of multimedia classrooms that meet modern scientific and technical requirements and ensures training in the language groups;
-the presence of a computer class equipped with the necessary peripheral equipment’s and software tools designed for classroom instruction, independent work of students and conducting of research and research of students.
Teaching and research is conducted based on practice №1 secondary school and at school "Davha" in which subjects are taught by specialized philological direction. During the practice, students have the opportunity to collect experimental data on pre-formulated research program associated with a particular aspect of the study of the process of mastering the learning content relevant disciplines direction. Because of students, practice provided a report, which records the results of the experimental data processing.

During practice, students given the opportunity to implement the plan of organizational and educational work with the students, as well as self-preparation and conduct of the individual lessons on one of the core disciplines of the direction. In addition, the student must take part in extra-curricular work with students (remedial and developmental), built based on the profile of subject content. Because of student’s practice provides a report with an analysis of all its activities (organizational, educational, teaching, developing corrective.

Moreover, the Arabic language taught to students from other specialties: "Journalism", "Jurisprudence", "Finance and Credit", "Accounting, analysis and audit", "Management" and "Business -Informatics". For teachers and students of the Department the University organized seminars and conferences, which lead by doctorates from Arab countries. Instructors took courses to improve the skills in INESKO. Measures are in Arabic language between the courses of all disciplines and competitions between students of our department and the departments of Arabic other universities. For all those wishing to operate the Arabic language courses.

The department comprises teachers with extensive experience in the field of education, which have a degree. Currently, 19 teachers work at the department. Among them: 6 people - volunteers (native speakers), who came from Arab countries (Egypt, Sudan, Morocco, Iraq, etc.).
The department employs 4 doctors of sciences, 15 masters.

- The department has a library. It considered the largest in our country and has more than 10,000 books.
- The department issued a total 354 graduates.
- Field “Linguistics”
One of the specialities of the department is 531000 "Linguistics" (full-time).
The curriculum not only provides a theoretical and practical language training, but also to participate in the business and role-plays, discussions, simulations of communication processes, as well as maintenance of individual practical projects.
The goal is to train qualified experts owning modern methods of teaching foreign languages, technology, intercultural communication, translation theory and practice.
The high level of theoretical training on "Linguistics" field provided by the active scientific work of the faculty of the department.
Specialty "linguistics" provides an excellent opportunity to learn two or three languages. The first basic language is Arabic. The second is English.
Department of Arabic Language and Linguistics of our University opens doors to the world and provides an opportunity to find employment in organizations such as travel agencies, educational institutions, hotels, advertising agencies, and so on. This specialty chosen by those who want to work linguist, teacher, translator, editor and etc.
