Law Department
Law Department of the Eastern University named after Mahmud Kashgari – Barskani was founded in 2002.
The purpose of the Department is to prepare highly qualified lawyers able to work in law enforcement and judicial sectors.
Currently, the Department has an experienced and hard-working team of teachers, constantly improves methodical materials for the educational process, and introduces new learning tools and their scientific-pedagogical level.
In different years the Department was headed by prominent lawyers and legal scholars who have contributed to the formation and development of this structural unit. The founder and first head of Department was Phd. K. Kurmanov. Later in this position he was replaced by professors such as Bodoev N. B., ex - Deputy Attorney General of the Kyrgyz Republic, and by a former judge of the Supreme court of the Kyrgyz Republic., Professor Karynov C. K. Later, the position was held by Professor Botobaev K. A. and later Associate Professor Nurmatov T. A. Now, Professor of Seisebaev G. M. is a head of the Department.

For the past 5 years the staff of the Department has published 102 works, such as 2 monographs, 1 textbook, 1 commentary, 7 manuals, 5 methodological recommendations, 85 articles.

In the period from 2014 to 2016 academic year 6 professors attended advanced training courses. Professors Lee, E. A. and M. A. Faradjeva have the highest percentage of qualification since they are practitioners and visit different training sessions, seminars, visiting lectures. Moreover, they teach law enforcement officers.
Besides individual research, Professors of the Law Department work on a common scientific topic: "Modern Law Conditions, Ways of Its Development and Application in Practice". In this direction, the materials and round tables are organizes, in which Memorandums of Cooperation are developed.
