The department of "Applied Informatics, Mathematics and Natural Disciplines" (AIM&ND) exists since 2012 and provides disciplines of the mathematical and natural-science cycle educational programs realized at Eastern University

Since 2016 on the basis of this department, the “Applied Informatics” bachelor program is being performed.
Personnel potential of the teaching staff which serves educational programs consists of eight people, seven of them regular, which makes – 87.5%. Three persons are with an academic degree, which makes – 37.5%: At the department there are 3 professors and 3 associate professors of EU. All teachers have the complying basic educations and passed advanced training courses. |

Educational work is carried out according to regulatory documents on organization of educational process and syllabus of the complying specializations, the educational and methodical complexes also methodical materials are developed on the basis of competence-based approach.
Released: 1 textbook, 2 education manuals with a classification by the Ministry of Education and Science of Kyrgyz Republic, also methodical materials are available.
The practical trainings are equipped with special literature, visual aids and presentations. Classes are carried out in the audiences and computer classes equipped with technical facilities.
The teaching staff is engaged in scientific activities; in recent years they have published 1 monograph, 60 scientific articles, from them 35 in Kyrgyzstan and 15 abroad.
The department annually holds the contests in mathematics and informatics among pupils of 10-11 classes from city schools, and also among 1st year students of intra - and interuniversity level. Winners are awarded with charters and prizes.

In the conditions of general informatization and dynamic development of informational communications by the most necessary and popular specialists are bachelors of applied informatics on various spheres of activity. Since 2016 at the Eastern University named after M. Kashgari-Barskani is launched the new specialization 710300 — Applied Informatics which is realized by the department of "Applied Informatics, Mathematics and Natural Disciplines".

With the conditions of M. Kashgari-Barskani EU, it is possible for creation the competitive advantages of graduates due to preparation of the specialization in “Applied Informatics” with sufficiently profound knowledge of the applied sphere. As it is well-known, specialists of such IT specializations are mostly in demand at the real sector of economy.
Giving credits for a practical direction in education of bachelors, it is also necessary to create in students the systematic knowledge in matters of use the information technologies in the financial and credit sphere. It is important to create necessary mathematical and analytical bases for the further creative growth of graduates in system of master preparation and by self-education.
Graduates, with the specific specialization in case of successful accomplishment of the curriculum and defense of final qualification work at the end of the four-year term of education, receive the state diploma of higher education in the specialization with assigning the qualification (degree) of a bachelor. Besides, they can continue study for a graduate program within the next two years and receive the master's degree on a selected course. |
